Martin is a seasoned Management Accountant and Internal Auditor with private sector experience obtained with International Specialty Chemicals Company, Wealth Management Multinational and International Tobacco Manufacturing Company as well as broad public sector working experience.
He is currently the Lead Consultant and CEO of M and J Audit Consultancy, which carries out Internal Audits, Financial Recruitment and Training for SME and multinationals. It also does training and evaluations on the European Development Fund Projects.
He joined British American Tobacco in 2006 as the Financial Controller for Ghana and then later Finance Director in 2007. In 2008, he was then appointed Finance Manager responsible for Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and the Gambia. Following this, he was appointed Finance Manager for West Africa Central in July 2010 until his resignation in February 2011. Prior to his relocation to Ghana, Martin worked for AXA UK, a subsidiary of the French global financial and wealth management group as a Senior Internal Auditor and Elementis Plc, a FTSE 250 speciality chemical company, as the Group Internal Auditor. He also worked in the UK Civil service for 7 years doing various roles in Finance, Audit and Policy Administration.
In the 14 years of working as an Auditor/ Accountant, Martin has had substantial interaction with senior business management, supporting, challenging and influencing business decisions. He brings effective interaction of this nature, excellent verbal and written communication skills, credibility, understanding and extensive experience of effective risk management and business acumen to this partnership.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, completed the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exams administered by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association based in the US and has a BA in Accounting from the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK.
